really good question... none that i know of. appart from dirk and garrnett but they both should become hall of famers!!!
Has there ever been a single season NBA MVP who did not make the hall of fame?nba 2k7
So far not yet but there are still a few recent recipients that need to play out. Kobe is in no doubt, but Dirk has not really taken Dallas any where. Yes they were in the championship a couple of years ago but got beat badly. Skipping over Steve Nash since they gave it to him in back to back years, they will put him in. Kevin Garnett should be in now that the Celtics will win at least 1 championship while he is there (Relax Laker fans I did not say this year). Tim Duncan is in for all his championships. Before that was Iverson who has yet to win the title. He is in the same boat as Dirk, although he has won scoring titles, so that might help him in. Other than that, it's Karl Malone and Charles Barkley that have won and no championship. But Both of those guys are in the 50 greatest NBA Players list so I am sure they are in the HOF
So I think Dirk and Iverson, maybe Nash are the only the only ones that are in jeopardy of having that title. If anyone doesn't go I would say DIRK only because I hate Dallas. LOL!!!! GO ROCKETS!!!!!
Has there ever been a single season NBA MVP who did not make the hall of fame?nba rules ,nba teams
soon to be!! i think dirk doesnt deserve to be a hall of fame...
None as of now. But there are hall of famers who never won an mvp.Like George Mikan the first dominant center in the NBA and Jerry West the guy in the NBA logo.
To this point, every player who has won even one MVP award and is eligible for the HOF is in.
The MVP award didn't start until 1956, which was Mikan's final season...his career was basically over, otherwise he probably would have won at least 4 or 5 MVP awards.
The first winners of the MVP award were guys like Pettit, Cousy, Russell, Chamberlain, etc...
When you go down the list of MVP award winners, the first MVP winner who is not in the HOF is Michael Jordan (88, 91, 92, 96 and 98) who will be eligible in the next voting cycle (Hakeem Olajuwon just got elected this year. So actually, both Jordan and David Robinson will be eligible next time, and both will get in easily.
The rest of the most recent winners are not yet eligible for the HOF, because they're either still active or they haven't been retired for 5 years.
There were several ABA MVPs who did not make the HOF, including Mel Daniels (a two time winner) , Spencer Haywood, Artis Gilmore and George McGinnis. Daniels and Gilmore should both already be in the HOF, but I don't think Haywood or McGinnis should be.
(sdlefer, McAdoo is in the HOF)
Bob Mc adoo
